Mini MuTe
It is a prototype of the MuTe hodoscope, designed to carry out the calibration and tests necessary to guarantee the proper functioning of the original instrument.
It was built on a 1:100 scale and is made up of two panels of 3×3 scintillator bars each. The bars measure 4 cm wide, 12 cm long and 1 cm thick.
The electronics are connected to the end of each of them, which feeds the Silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) to convert a light signal, generated by the scintillator due to the passage of a charged particle, into an electrical signal. This signal is amplified to be delivered to the discrimination stage, where it is decided which pulses correspond to an event.
In addition, tests have been carried out to evaluate the effects that may be generated due to the variation in temperature, in the electronics and in the scintillator bars.
